Three defeats in six matches (and let's be honest, we deserved to lose at Ipswich) in which we have conceded ten goals is in complete contrast to last season where we were such a hard side to beat on our travels. The strange thing is that we have become a soft touch away this season despite Malky Mackay's determination to keep on picking last season's team and employ last season's tactics away from home even though there's been 10 million pounds worth of transfer spending in the summer.
£10 million is a huge sum by Championship standards, but, even so, we certainly cannot afford to waste £3 million plus of it on two players who have probably not played a single half of Championship football between them yet because that's exactly what is happening Kim and Velikonja are at the moment. Premiership sides can afford to spend that sort of money on players that aren't going to play first team football yet, but it's a luxury Championship clubs cannot afford.
