Sam Allardyce has managed to bring in Kevin Nolan from the Premier League and at the moment still has the services of Rob Green, Scott Parker and Carlton Cole. Welshman Jack Collison is also in the West Ham squad but new signing John Carew is not able to face Cardiff after he completing his move to Upton Park yesterday.
The Hammers will also include their other new signings today. Joey O'Brien, Abdoulaye Faye and Matthew Taylor.
Malky Mackay has virtually all hius new signings to call upton, there's a suggstion in the press that Filip Kiss is the only new player unavailable today.
Will Mackay play with two up front or have a lone striker supported by a five man midfield?
I think the back five sorts itself out. Marshall, McNaughton, Hudson, Gerrard and Taylor.
In midfield I think Whittingham, Cowie and Conway will start with Mackay then deciding wether to have a holding midfielder like Gunnarsson and then an attacking option like Mason to Support Kenny Miller. He also has Earnie, Gestede and Parkin as attacking options as well.
If either side want to top the table after today's game they are going to have to win by three goals following Ipswich's 3 - 0 win yesterday. It's a bit early to worry about league tables just yet, let's hope we get to see a positive start from City and a positive start to the new era under Malky Mackay.
Kick off is at 1pm.
