A sublime top corner finish from Peter Whittingham and a back post diving header from Roger Johnson was just reward for a Cardiff side that looked far more comfortable then their Premiership opponents. In fact City outdid Middlesbrough on the pitch and off it with a very vocal travelling support.
Both goals came in the opening 22 mins and City were rarely troubled after that. Peter Enckleman in the City goal made one superb diving save but apart from that he collected all the crosses that came anywhere near him and that was about the extent of his day.
Aaron Ramsey started the game and played well in a team that all did their bit.
So it's an FA Cup semi final to come. Wembley Stadium, on the weekend of April 5th / 6th, will witness tens of thousands of Cardiff City supporters marching down Wembley Way
Ticket details will follow later in the week after City officials visit Wembley to make arrangements. The semi final draw will be made on Monday March 10th @ 1:25pm.
What a fantastic day.
