We must start winning. And start winning NOW.

City again dropped home points last Friday. Crewe and Wigan both won then on Saturday to keep their chances of automatic promotion well and truly alive. Thankfully Oldham drew so did not overtake us but they are level on points having played two games more. Bristol City won for the first time this year and edged closer to City but they have played two games more as well. QPR in 6th place drew at home.

City's last 5 games have produced three home draws and an away defeat and and away win. 9 points lost in the last 15, 4 of them by conceding late goals at Ninian Park. Two from the inability to beat a Barnsley team that had one shot at goal (and they scored from it) and three lost by the Huddersfield debacle. The only bright note was managing to keep a clean sheet at Northampton.

We now find ourselves 5 points behind Crewe. OK we have a game in hand but thats worth nothing when you are not winning. Crewe and Cardiff both play on Tuesday this week. Maybe the fact we are away from home will help becuase we are struggling big time at Ninian Park. Our once fortress that saw us win 7 games in a row up until the Bristol City defeat has only seen 2 wins in the last 7 games.

We have to beat Port Vale and hope that leaders Wigan beat Crewe. If the worse were to happen and we lose and Crewe win then we would be 8 points behind the form team of the division and 8 points behind an automatic promotion place.

Make no bones about it, we are in danger here of being left behind with the play offs beckoning. I certainly do not fancy our chances in there again.

The next 8 days are crucial. Three games, all away from home.
