Cardiff v Wolves: Pre match comments
Neil Warnock
"I've been here eight games now and I'm still learning about them (the players)." he said.
"The fans are going to play a big role but we need to create more, we need more quality up the field. We need more goals. I thought were we poor against Ipswich over the halfway line.
"Credit to Gunnars and Whitts, I thought they were excellent in midfield, but we didn't have enough going forward."
A second game in 4 days might be too much for Rickie Lambert
"To be fair to Rickie, he hadn't trained for 10 days before Saturday," Warnock added. So I'm looking to see what we can do to get more goals in the team.
"I'm still looking at options, we've got to find something so I'll keep changing things up between now and January."
Can the fans help?
“I think the fans have been fantastic," he added.
"They’ve got behind us, even in the second half last week when Brighton were on top. The fans can lift us though, we came back stronger in the end and Chris [Hughton] was happy with a point in the end.
“It’s an intimidating place if the crowd gets going – hopefully in the next two games they can lift the roof off again."
Paul Lambert
Wolves new boss Paul Lambert said, “We’ve only been here four games and we have had to rectify many things that were wrong while also trying to win games. But there’s a better feeling around the club now and I think that’s important.
“You can see it in the way the lads are playing at the minute, they are full of confidence.
“They are looking forward to Cardiff and we definitely look a threat, that’s for sure.
“We look a team capable of scoring goals. But we know and understand we have got to be better defensively.”
