"We conceded a bit of a sloppy goal right at the start - they were a bit fortunate with the deflection - but then we were always up against it from four minutes on," said Warner.
"But to be fair, I thought Cardiff were quite poor as well - they were fortunate that we were worse. It was a dour game to be involved in - and probably to watch, as well."
Warner was barracked by the home fans who took delight in his own poor kicking display.
"I was expecting it - it's the way it goes," he continued.
"That's the way they are down here with ex-players - I knew it was going to come, so it wasn't a surprise."
Warner was complimentary to City keeper Neil Alexander. The Scotsman produced two cracking saves to deny the Canaries anything from the game.
"Two great saves there for all to see," he said.
"I think a point each would have been a fair result actually - probably."
