Two City players, Chris Gunter and Curtis McDonald, started on the bench.
The win for Wales means the lads enter the Uefa U21 Championships next season. Wales are in a group with Israel and Turkey.
Manager Brian Flyn said afterwards
"It was the reward for 18 months of hard work, we have looked at so many young players, something like 60 since I took over.
"Craig has sometimes been frustrating to watch, but he has skill and we will help him, and them all, to flourish.
"The opportunity is now arising for some of these young players to step up to the plate, that is the carrot for them all.
"They must take the opportunity when it comes along. My success is driven by players going into the senior squad.
"We have brought through a lot very quickly, a real crash course, and you can see several now on the brink and some will certainly play on Saturday against Trinidad.
"Next season we will now be playing in the Uefa competition and that will only help players progress further."
