Wales 2 - 0 Hungary

Robert Page skippered the Welsh to a fine 2 - 0 win over Hungary. The star up front was Craig Bellamy. Tricky runs, plenty of pace and an eye for goal. Bellamy scored with a 30 yard free kick that the joker in the Hungary goal allowed to go straight through him. Then Bellamy was sent throuh by a sublime Simon Davis back heel and the keeper again allowed the ball through him. He nearly managed to kep the ball out but the eagle eyed linesman spotted it had crossed the line. Bellamy should have had a hat-trick when the keeper scuffed a clearance to the new Celtic striker, this time though Bellamy could not find the killer touch.

Daniel Gabbidon was a surprise starter and he walked away with Sky's Man of the Match award. Rhys Weston was a 49th min sub. There was one nasty incident when Page and Weston squared up to each other after a defensive mix up. Hopefully just the passion of the game.

Republic of Ireland 1 - 0 Portugal

No game for Alan Lee but Graham Kavanagh played the second half as the Irish secured a superb victory over the Euro 2004 finalists.

Andy O Brien's early goal was enough to see off a team that started with Ronaldo, Deco and Tiago to name a few.

South Africa 1 - 1 Australia

90 mins for Tony Vidmar as the Aussie's scored a 70 min equaliser from one time City target Scott Chipperfield.

To complete the City players on international duty we have Tony Koskela. The Finnish midfielder has yet to make a first team City squad. He is away with a Finland U21 squad in Cyprus where thay are playing a couple of friendlies over the next few days.
