It's going to add more spice to an atmosphere that would be electric anyway as Bristol City and Cardiff meet up in today's Severnside derby.
"I can't wait - it's a game I've been really looking forward to," said Trundle. "I would have loved to have played in a Swansea-Cardiff game, but that never happened. This match will be the closest I will come to it.
"I know I'm going to get a lot of stick from the Cardiff fans, but that won't bother me, stuff like that never has.
"And to be honest, I think this game is big enough anyway without me being involved; a big derby with a big crowd.
"I haven't been here that long, but I've already heard stories about Bristol City and Cardiff games and fans have told me how much this means. So it's a bit daft to talk about me."
Cardiff fans are being bussed over to Ashton Gate for the 3pm kick off this afternoon.
