Lawrence has been extremely active in the transfer market of late, persuading Alan Mahon and Steve Jenkins to come to Ninian Park in the last few weeks.
However other higher profile players have been more difficult to attract, with Luke Chadwick preferring to go out on loan to Reading and Welsh international Andy Melville staying put at Fulham.
City have also taken 23 year old Spanish midfielder Nacho Zaragoza on trial and they hope to get clearance for him to play in the reserve match with Luton tomorrow afternoon.
