Wales manager John Toshack is backing former club Cardiff City's bid to reach the Premier League via the play-offs. Ex-Real Madrid boss Toshack played for the Bluebirds during his career and is hopeful the current side can make a long overdue return to the top flight.
Cardiff won 1-0 at Leicester in the first leg of their semi-final and face the Foxes at home on Wednesday night.
"It would be a fantastic achievement, it would be very difficult to put a price on it," Toshack told BBC Wales.
"It's something that's just been a dream. When I started playing at Cardiff they'd just gone out of the old First Division, as it was then, 1962-63 I think.
"I made my debut in '65 and in two or three years we came very, very close but since then there's been nothing.
"It looks as though we're so close but [current Cardiff manager] Dave Jones, I'm sure, knows himself that [there's still work to be done] although it's only two matches."
If Cardiff can see off Leicester they will face a Wembley final against either Nottingham Forest or Blackpool, with Blackpool having a 2-1 lead from their first leg at home.
The prize is a place in the Premier League, with all the riches and excitement that would bring.
"To bring Premiership football to Cardiff well... the players that we've [Wales] got in the Premiership would come here, we'd see more of them for the city itself," Toshack said.
"From a selfish point of view - and you have to differentiate from a Wales manager's point of view and Cardiff - we'd like to see one or two more Welsh players involved, but people shouldn't take that the wrong way."
Toshack says that Cardiff's goal-scoring threat combined with a tough defence gives them an excellent chance of becoming the club that wins through to face the likes of giants Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal next season.
"Cardiff are very, very resolute and they can get goals," Toshack added.
"If you look at [Peter] Whittingham, [Jay] Bothroyd, [Michael] Chopra - [Ross] McCormack when he's come on - they've got goals from everywhere this year and that is a key thing for them.
"Before the season started I fancied Cardiff to make the play-offs, to get in the top six.
"The experience they had at the end of last season you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy, to miss out on the way they did last year.
"When they sort of lessened off, if you like, towards the end of last year, this is when they've really come good.
"In the five or six years that Dave Jones has been there, this is without doubt the best finish to a season that they've had.
"There's no question they thoroughly deserve to be where they are at the moment."
