Toothless Bluebirds dumped out of the cup

C:WindowsTempphpC499.tmpCongratulations to anyone who managed to watch the full 120 minutes of City's cup exit at Bristol Rovers.

Until Chris Lines' stunning strike minutes from the end the viewing public would have had every right to switch over from the turgid football on show to catch up on the more exciting Bargain Hunt or Homes Under The Hammer.

It's a real worry that Cardiff cannot score. Kenneth Zohore was quite frankly pathetic as the main striker for the opening hour. Fred Gounongbe was a tad better when he came on but for the second game in a row managed to miss when it looked easier to score. He's getting closer though, the effort in this game hit the post.

Cardiff enjoy possession but the blunt attack means all the good work in the first two thirds of the pitch is ruined in the final third.

Fans are expecting a better style of football under Paul Trollope but so far, from two games, the focus is firmly on the inability to score a goal.

With Stuart O'Keefe suffering a suspected broken arm, Cardiff becoming the latest Championship side to be dumped out of the first round and the farce that is Thursday night football, it's been a crap evening.

As a result City's next game is now on Sunday and it looks a daunting prospect to face a QPR side who managed to score three last weekend and they overcame their League One opponents (Swindon) in the cup on Wednesday (although after a penalty shoot out).

Unless City start to wow it looks like a case of 'Meet The New Boss, Same As The Old Boss.'
