Thompson injured in freak inflatable incident

It was reported on the weekend that Steve Thomson crashed off an inflatable banana while on holiday in the USA (similar to the one pictured). The only comment from the club at the time was from Peter Ridsdale
"Steve Thompson will have an operation," said the City chairman. "He suffered an accident during his summer break."
Then it emerged that Preston were lining up a move for Thompson, a move that's now been scuppered. They claim Thompson was in the Mediterranean on a family holiday in Cyprus.
Thompson is quoted as saying to the North East club
"It is an absolute nightmare and has happened at the worst possible time.
"Basically I fell off the boat and hit the water at 30 miles per hour. The groin muscle ripped right off the bone.
"It is no secret that Cardiff were trying to sell me and it has pretty much put that on hold until January. The manager hit the roof."
Well at least he didn't say that Dave Jones went bananas!
