I never realised and I only mention it now because tomorrow night we have another female linesperson. Amy Fearn probably isn't a name you'll readily recognise but she's got a place in history.
Earlier this year, ironically at the Ricoh Arena, she became the first woman to referee a match in the Football League. She was called upon for the last 20 mins of Coventry's 1 - 0 win over Nottingham Forest after the first choice referee limped off with a leg injury.
Amy, from Leicestershire, is back on the line tomorrow along with fellow assistant Mark Heywood from Cheshire.
The referee is a new one to Cardiff. Its' James Linnington from the Isle Of Wight and it's his first game officiating the Bluebirds.
