Brian Clark's header saw Cardiff to a 1 - 0 victory at Ninian Park in the Cup Winners Cup. Madrid went on to win the 2nd leg 2 - 0 at the Bernabeu two weeks later but the result at Ninian Park in front of 47,500 remains one of City's greatest ever victories.
Clark (pictured holding the match programme) passed away in 2010 but will forever be a Cardiff City legend and the man who scored to beat Real Madrid.
