The Championship weekend

There are ten games today in Championship to complete the 41st round of games. Two matches were played last night with Brighton staying in contention for automatic promotion with a demolition of Fulham while Hull have virtually confirmed their plce in the play offs with a last minute goal against Wolves to win 2 - 1.

 

Brighton & Hove Albion 5 - 0 Fulham

Hull City 2 - 1 Wolverhampton Wanderers

 

The key games today involve Cardiff, Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich. I'd like to see Derby struggle at Charlton but the two crucial fixtures in my view are Cardiff v QPR and Sheff Weds v Ipswich.

 

A Cardiff win and Wednesday loss would put City only two points behind the play off places. If it went the other way City's season could just about end today. Worse case would see City eight points adrift with four games to play.

 

With Cardiff going to Wednesday in two weeks time it's vital that the Owls are not allowed to get too far ahead.
