Without such support the show cannot continue. Previous sponsors have included Redrow Homes, Hafren Roofing and Betfred. Gtfm are grateful to local advertisers such as Tontan for their continuing support of the show but need to secure the support of a main sponsor for 2007/08. Stephen McPhail and Peter Ridsdale have already made appearances this season, Peter's appearance setting a new record for listener response to the show! Over the past few seasons we have managed to get many players, past and present, on to the programme, including legends like Malloy, Gibson, the Bennetts, Dwyer and Murray. More recent star names such as Dale, Earnie, Gabbs and Ginge have also been featured. City managers Dave Jones and Lennie Lawrence have also been guests on the show during its run.
Thanks to Keith Cooper, and his many contacts in the game, we have also secured input from many other star names over the years. Many managers of rival clubs such as Stoke boss Tony Pulis and Plymouth's Ian Holloway have contributed. We were even lucky enough to share the "football wisdom" of Frank Skinner on one occasion!
The show deals exclusively in all matters pertaining to Cardiff City. It is not a general sports phone in, and everyone working on the show is a genuine City fan. We have a great link with the club, being regularly promoted on the official website, and, thanks to Barry, in the match day programme! Indeed, the club have kindly agreed to refer to the show on the official website featuring the sponsor tag. As Barry puts it, you can have "a bit more bang for your buck".
The full sponsorship package would consist of sponsorship tags during each programme and advertising across the schedule. Gtfm are a community station, servicing a potential 200,000 listeners in Pontypridd and the RCT. We are not part of any big media conglomerate. We're here to serve our local community and we consider the Cardiff City Phone-in to be our flagship show. We fully recognise the huge amount of support for the Bluebirds in the valleys and the show exists to give the fans a voice.
