City took the lead direct from a corner. A left footed inswinger caught the keeper out and as he tried to scramble the ball away it too late and it was in at the near post.
I'm sorry for a lack of names during this little report but I'm not fully au fait with the youth players. I do know that Jamal Easter and Curtis McDonald are a right handful upfront and Nicky Fish did well at centre half. Another tenatious player was the City No. 10, he hit the post from an acute angle after a keeper error early on and he was always looking to push forward.
Team Bath's No 2 was subbed before half time before the referee sent him off. He was involved in a couple of scuffles after some strong tackles. In fairness to both teams these lads do not shirk a tackle, they play for real.
City's second goal was from the penalty spot. A foul in midfield was nearly called by the linesman but the referee waved play on and I think it was Easter who was spectacularly upended in the box and he stepped up to score from the spot.
Half time Team Bath 0 - 2 Cardiff City.
Each team made second half subs and despite Bath having more of a foothold in the game they were kept out by the excellent Nicky Fish and his defence.
The keepers at either end were rarely tested but it was enjoyable nonetheless.
The team sheet announced the starting line ups as
