Every year the supporters groups organise events to raise money for cancer charities...over £25,000 has been raised over the last 3 years for LATCH, Macmillan, Marie Curie, also £13,000 was raised for the Tsunami appeal...this year we decided to go for a real close to home charity and choose Ty Hafan hospice in Sully as our designated charity for 2006-2007.
Paul Higginbotham (Papa Ratzi) set up an internet site for donations

We set ourselves a very ambitious target of £10,000.
The RAMS organised their annual walk up Snowdon to start the ball rolling...once again we were sponsored by Alun Williams of Hafren roofing and flooring, who has been a fantastic help throughout the years with his donations. A large sum was raised and we were on our way.
Arri Potta and Dai Taxi organised a Skittles tournament in the Muni club City road, Chris Barker turned up to support us and another £1.300 was raised.
Christmas came and Half time Wayne decided that a Christmas day swim would boost funds and another tidy sum was raised.
Steve Day then got involved and helped raise the funds with his betting game, you could bet on who the new owners would be, back in January, he also contributed a tidy sum himself.
The club organised a fans forum with Dave Jones and Peter Ridsdale at the Marriott hotel, that raised another £500. That was a good night out meeting the manager and chairman whilst raising money for Ty Hafan.
Then Vince and the supporters club organised a fun run in Bute Park last month, over £2,000 has been raised from this well organised day out which was supported by Chris Gunter and Joe Ledley.
A anonymous donation of £1,927 has appeared on the just giving site this week, an amazing gesture from someone wishing to remain unknown. The sum of course matches the year City won the cup, 80 years ago this week.
The board users of Mike Morris' site, the official site, sleeping giant and the RAMS site, plus the other Cardiff websites have also made contributions for which we would like to thank you all.
On Saturday Paul Sawyer from Ty Hafan will be on the pitch at half time to receive a cheque. Did we reach our 10 k target???...thanks to our tremendous supporters we surpassed it and will give the hospice a cheque for an amazing £12,000 and that may still rise. You still have a couple of days to contribute on our site http://www.justgiving.com/cardiffcity
An amazing £50,000 has been raised in the last 3 years
Nest season we are raising money for Tenovus cancer charity with the first event being the Snowdon walk in June...thanks again for your outstanding efforts.
