The following letter was sent to the Valley Rams organising committee:
SUFFOLK CONSTABULARY - COMMUNITY FIRST
To all Cardiff City Football Supporters
Welcome to Ipswich. We hope you have an enjoyable and peaceful visit and appreciate that is the intention of most of you.
You will be made welcome at the following Pubs:-
Station Hotel - opposite Railway Station
Zest Nightclub – Princes St (Close to Railway Station)
This licensed premise will accept Cardiff fans only and is in walking distance to the football ground.
In the interests of public safety, we would point out that you will be regularly filmed on CCTV and Mobile Camera.
The Police may, at any time, give directions to you in the event of any gathering of more than 20 persons where disorder or disruption is anticipated - Section 14 Public Order Act 1984.
Please note the Police will vigorously enforce the law relating to drunkenness and disorder.
Furthermore City travel to Derby on August 20th. This match (for the first time) will be a 3:00pm kick off.
Tickets are carrying a warning to fans to take their Membership cards. No membership card / number - no entry.
A further statement from the Rams says:
We have finally secured a 3pm kick off for this match...it was not easy and we have had to agree to membership cards being shown before entry will be allowed.
NO MEMBER CARD NO ENTRY. Our stewards will be up there with a laptop to check fan numbers for fans who forget their cards. Again we have had our allocation dropped due to persistant standing but we argued the point again and managed to secure 1500 tickets for this game. There will be SAG (Safety Advisory Group) and football league monitors watching this fixture closely to see if sanctions can be eased against our club further for future fixtures.
