Stockport fans for a day. Division 2 preview.

City will fall two games behind the rest this Saturday as the Bluebirds trip to Wycombe has been postponed becuase of no fewer than 6 international call ups. From that 6 Daniel Gabbidon has withdrawn but we still have Neil Alexander with Scotland, Earnie, Steve Jenkins and Rhys Weston with the full Wales squad and Lee Fowler and James Collins with the U21's.

A chance then for the rest to put points on the board. Last weekend was a sickener, City won against Mansfield then as we sat back to hopefully see the other top teams struggle away from home the scores came in and they made scary reading. Crewe 4 - 0 winners at Luton, Oldham winning at Northampton, Bristol at Huddersfield, Wigan halted QPR's good form with a win at Loftus Rd.

This weekend all bar QPR at home. Leaders Wigan entertain Plymouth, Wigan then play at Northampton next Friday so for 24 hours at least will have played three games more.

Crewe v Stockport is a massive game.  A win for Crewe and they go 4 points clear with City having two games in hand. The pressure is on Cardiff to win their games. If Stockport can win a point then 2 points ahead with Cardiff having two games in hand is a far better scenario. Dario Gradi is not happy as he has lost two players on U21 international duty, if he was three out he could have called the game off. Crewe are without the injured Hulse as well.

City could actually drop to 4th if Oldham can pull off a three goal winning margin at home to Port Vale. That would bring them level on points with City but having played two games more.

Bristol City entertain Barnsley hoping to reduce the gap on City to one point

The only away side in the top 6 is QPR, they head North to Blackpool.

There is nothing City can do but sit and watch, the main score is the Crewe one, anything other than a win for Crewe will mean a good weekend for Cardiff City.
