The sacking of Steve Morison was announced by Cardiff City Football Club on Sunday lunchtime. Less than 24 hours earlier The Bluebirds lost their fifth game of the season, a limp 1 - 0 defeat at Huddersfield.
Morison has changed the style of play and brought in a lot of new players but the lack of chances and goals has seen the team goalless in five of the ten games played so far and in total just seven goals scored (and three of the came at Middlesbrough).
The first 45 mins at The Riverside last Tuesday showed the Cardiff City the fans want to see, pressing, attacking, threatening and finding the back of the net, at Huddersfield yesterday they got the opposite. A cautious, blunt and quite frankly pathetic effort when chasing an equaliser that never came for 82 mins
The announcement from the club, posted online read:
Cardiff City Football Club can confirm that First Team Manager Steve Morison has been relieved of his duties.
We’d like to thank Steve for his efforts during his time at Cardiff City, stabilising the first team last season and helping to evolve our squad in line with the club’s philosophy this summer. We wish him the best for the future.
Mark Hudson will oversee first team affairs at this time, assisted by Tom Ramasut, whilst the Club considers options for the position.
