'I Just want to record a big thankyou for Sam keeping me involved in the club as a director,' said Borley. 'It has been an eventful 6 years and its a pity the dream faltered at the finishing line but the batton has been handed over and the dream will be delivered. Keep the faith the futures bright the futures Blue!!!'
With Peter Ridsdale now at the helm Borley is backing the new man to make it a success
'We must all get behind Peter as he is doing a great job. I hope to see lots of good news in coming weeks.'
Steve was asked 'Can you honestly hand on heart say we've got nothing to fear?'
'Cardiff City fans have been a nervous lot since we sold John Toshack,' Steve responded.
'But I can honestly say there is nothing to fear.
'Keith Harris put together the Southampton, Aston Villa and Portsmouth deals and is involved in the West Ham deal.
'We are in good company there and it goes to show how far we have come.
'Keep the faith, this could be our year.'
Steve Borley was in charge of the club when Sam arrived. The club was desperate for new investment and was strugling after a failed take over by Clive Sullivan.
Borley kept the club going and made the deal with Sam happen.
'It was the right decision at the time - I made it easy for Sam to come in. They were difficult times.'
Borley is the last of the directors still on the board from that time. At the moment with Peter Ridsdale as chairman City have Ned Hammam and Jonathan Crystal on the board with Borley. Changes are likely, Crystal and Ned Hamam are Sam's people and with the change at the club new directors are sure to come in. Will Borley still be there?
Well he's survived 6 years of change and he said
'It is to early to say if they will change the board but it would not be unreasonable to expect some changes to boost the strength of the board.
I am the last of the original board and it has been like 10 green bottles, so I hope its not going to be "and there was 1 green bottle".
