Sheep get one over the Wolves. Website reaction

Today we saw Team Cardiff. Not a half arsed display by a bunch of individuals but a real team performance. From the warm up, where City were fully organised doing different training routines and exercise patterns, to the performance on the pitch where City did to Wolves what many have done to us.

Gamesmanship when required, a full understanding of each other, the defence working as a unit. Players having a go and looking out for each other.

The win was massive. Well over 2,000 City fans populated the Steve Bull Lower and with a big home support we saw nearly 28,000 at Molineux, the biggest crowd in the division today.

Wolves have a superb stadium, either side is a two tier stand with end stands that are single tier but steep and high.

City came out to warm up and it was evident that there has been change in the coaching. At Forest a couple of weeks ago there was some structure but today we had training mats laid out, the players went throuh some well choreographed exercises then a warm up on the mats. All the while Wolves appeared to have a kick about. Terry Burton was keeping an eye on proceedings, is this to be credited to him? Well done if so.

City looked confident from the off. It didn't take long for a goal to come. Paul Parry, having one of his best games for City, shot from the left and after a deflection from a defender and then the goalkeepers gloves he saw his shot hit the net high to the right.

Mad celebrations were soon dampened when Carl Cort dummied to allow Seol space in the box. His drilled cross was met at pace by Cort who near took the roof of the net off.

City did well to get to half time unscathed. Wolves had a goal disallowed for offside and Kenny Miller was not happy.

In another incident Alan Lee was judged to have caught Mark Clyde with his elbow but the referee only gave him a yellow card. Clyde was taken off suffering from a suspected broken nose. Then as the half came to a close Tony Warner produced two stunning saves to keep the scores level.

The second half was three minutes old when Paul Parry crossed from the left and Peter Thorne beat his man to head past Paul Jones. Jones was involved in City's third when he came to punch away a corner, he got a thick edge on it and the ball ballooned into the air. Graham Kavanagh kept his eye on the ball and ran into volley a blockbuster into the net. I bet he could try for a fortnight and not hit a ball so clean again.

City then defended as a unit and broke with pace and threat. As the minutes ticked away Paul Ince scored from a corner to make it a nervy last few mins.

When the whistle came the celebrations were superb. The Wolves fans were caught sneaking out long before the end, they are not happy at their team failing to win today. Reading some of their MB posts was quite entertaining.

Darren Williams played from the start. A solid display. Gary O'Neil came off the bench for the last 10 mins. He covered about every blade of grass in that time and was extremely effervescent not shirking any challenge.

Paul Parry caused the biggest threats and he scared Wolves. A goal and an assist has made it a happy day for him and the City fans who thouroughly enjoyed a fine day out.
