Sam Hammam has relieved Neil McNamara of his duties at Ninian Park after the security man was found guilty of handling a stolen car.
Sam controversially backed McNamara after it was revealed he had previously been convicted of football violence. Sam claimed
“Mac is like a poacher turned gamekeeper. He knows what is going on in a fan's mind. Poachers can become the best gamekeepers – I have no worries about him.”
But now with Cardiff City under severe pressure to clean up its act Mac has been sacked. He will be sentenced next week at Merthyr crown court.
McNamara was dismissed by his security firm after his previous was revealed after the Leeds game but Sam stood by him and employed his on the security staff at Ninian Park.
The latest conviction has disappointed Sam and forced the club to act and Macca is dismissed.
