CARDIFF City and the Football Association of Wales are set for war over the FAW Premier Cup and a top secret deal for a £1.5m national training ground at the Bluebirds' new stadium, we can reveal.
Ninian Park chief Sam Hammam today launched a fresh assault on the Premier Cup he has dubbed "Minnie Mouse" insisting City will NOT be playing in the competition again.
"I say again, this club will not be playing in a cup competition that does not have European football at the end of it," said Hammam.
In response, the FAW has threatened to pull the plug on hush-hush talks to base a new training facility for Mark Hughes' Wales at City's new state-of-the-art home.
The governing body fear that if one of the big three Nationwide League clubs withdraws, the whole tournament will collapse.
