Newly-promoted Premier League club Middlesbrough are interested in signing Cardiff City defender Fabio Da Silva.
The 26-year-old Brazilian's contract includes a release understood to be £2m and has a year left to run.
Fabio joined Cardiff from Manchester United in January 2014.
He is vying with Wales international Declan John to be Cardiff's first-choice left wing-back ahead of their opening Championship game of the season at Birmingham on Saturday.
Cardiff chief executive Ken Choo has said players were likely to leave the Cardiff City Stadium before others were brought in.
"We could see a lot of movement in the last week of August, when the transfer window is about to close," said Choo.
"Everything is still up in the air.
"We have a few targets to go but it really depends on players leaving as well, players who we feel should move on."
