I'm quick enough to moan at games (see my Twitter feed - https://twitter.com/cardiffcitymad ) so I hope I redressed the balance last by tweeting about an improved City performance against Blackburn Rovers.
Sean Morrison's header on 84 mins nearly won it for Cardiff before old boy Rudy Gestede slotted home after some desperate City defending. There wasn't the air of doom and gloom hanging over the stadium last night as there has been.
I didn't feel we'd capitulate totally and lose the game and prior to that I thought City were far more lively and attack minded than they have been for a long time.
Star of the show was Matthew Kennedy who made his debut on the wing. We might have somethibng special here as the tricky wide man looked to beat his man and create space for himself. There was an enouraging first period of the game for Eoin Doyle up front and he saw a great chance cleared off the line.
Typically City's goal when it did come was from a set piece. Peter Whittingham's corner powerfully headed in by Sean Morrison with less than 10 minutes to play but for the first time in the game on 90 mins City paniced and failed to clear their lines and Gestede gratefully rescued a point for the visitors.
Blackburn may still have been celebrating their FA Cup on the weekend, I thought they'd be tougher opponents but they do have players that can make a difference. Craig Conway can deliver a decent cross, Gestede has developed into a much more commanding centre forward and Josh King is a strong runner and kept the brilliant Manga on his toes all night.
I'm not sure if the arrival of Paul rollope has madea difference. Maybe the team selected had better balance, maybe Russell Slade has stepped up a gear. What we saw was better, more enjoyable to watch and seeing the team applauded off at half time and full time tells you it was worth going out in the cold to see.
Two tricky away games now. Huddersfield on Saturday to face ex skipper Mark Hudson before next Tuesday at Wigan and the first meet up again with Malky Mackay.
Wigan won at Reading last night to give themselves some hope of avoiding relegation. Saturday is important but the game at Wigan is one City just cannot afford to lose.
