Press reports earlier this season suggested Robinson was set to quit Ninian Park in the summer due to family commitments.
But Robinson has reaffirmed his commitment to the club by telling Lennie Lawrence he wants to finish his career at Cardiff City.
"We had a chat and hopefully there is something in the pipeline, another year," said Robinson, currently on a family holiday in Marbella.
"I'd like to see out my career at Cardiff if I can, so we'll just have to wait and see.
"I never said I wanted to leave in the first place.

Manager Lennie Lawrence is lining up a season-long deal for the highly talented Carter and the 20-year-old Birmingham City midfielder refused to rule out a move to Ninian Park next season.
"A loan move to Cardiff definitely appeals to me," said Carter, who came on as a substitute during Len Ashurst's testimonial earlier this week.
"They are a big club and have a good set-up and I'm sure they will be challenging for promotion from Division One next season.

The First Division is generally a tremendously tough cookie to break and looking back on the last campaign, the top six were all very close together, with the six or seven teams below them hard on their heels.
In terms of the strength of the division It may well have represented City's best chance of a quick escape because come August, things will be very different.
"It will be a stronger league next season," said Lawrence.
"You have Leeds, Wolves and Leicester coming down, teams who have kept themselves financially stable and I know Wolves have money to spend.
"Leicester I don't know about financially but they have a strong squad.
