Riise has not yet signed for the SkyBlues and Lennie is still trying to keep open talks with the player.
"It is not beyond the bounds of possibiltiy that he could pitch up today or tomorrow and sign." Lennie told the official website after earlier reports suggested that Cardiff had missed out.
There were also newspaper rumours this morning that City were lining up a £1m bid for Gary Doherty. These though are just on the back of the Doherty story that broke last week. He is still a potential target and could still be brought in on loan.
Lennie did say on Wednesday that he could have a loan player signed as soon as today. No announcement have been made.
