The failure to make the play offs when it was almost impossible to do so has understandably caused some anger amongst supporters. The failure to pick up a point in the last two games or a win in the last four games meant that City humiliated themselves over the past fortnight.
Up until then things were looking good and even finishing 7th has given the club it's best league finish in 38 years. Last season we went to the FA Cup final and we will kick off the new campaign in a new stadium.
"Dave Jones has done an outstanding job since he took over as manager." Ridsdale said. "Has he made mistakes, of course he has, haven't we all? The true test however is that he has got more things right than wrong and we are all stronger for that."
The statement, here on the official website, goes on to say
"To kill all the speculation before it goes any further, Dave Jones is the manager of Cardiff City Football Club and will remain so. With myself and my colleagues on the board, Dave will spend the summer months learning the lessons from the season just ended and we will take appropriate decisions about the strengths and weaknesses in the playing squad so that we enter next season stronger that we ended this."
