Another game another stunning goal. This time Scott Malone (pictured) volleyed home an equaliser as the 90 minutes came up.

City had fully deserved a point from their possession and control but lapses at the back from set pieces had seen the side 2 - 1 down heading towards added time.

The Bluebirds appeared functional and efficient for the first half an hour before Lee Peltier needlessly gave away a corner and from the kick Clint Hill made a mug out of Sean Morrison to head Rangers in front.

After the break Cardiff increased the stats in terms of possession with 75% of the ball under City's control in the open fifteen minutes of the second period. But a Rangers breakaway followed by a corner saw the home side controversially go 2 - 0 up. Clint Hill was involved again but this time he used his arm to force the ball onto Charlie Austin who deflected the ball into the goal. Austin may have used his upper arm but Hill's contribution was more a forearm smash and the goal should not have stood.

City kept plugging away though, and while still risking defensive drama when QPR broke the Bluebirds got themselves back into the game.

In a role reversal a City corner was met by Morrison to reduce the deficit. Cardiff remained in control but behind, and it could have been worse. Austin's shot was cleared off the line by Matt Connolly, Moore saved smartly before ex City player Jay Emmanuel Thomas shot wide after more defensive frailty.

City hadn't finished trying though. Battling and determined Cardiff pressed and Scott Malone found himself trying to control a bouncing ball 25 yards out. From nowhere he took control and volleyed into the top corner leaving Rob Green grasping thin air.

Four mins added time passed without much incident and Cardiff came away with a deserved draw.

There are defensive issues to address and striking issues as well but overall City were the better organised side and the reaction from the Sky commentators and pundit Ian Holloway was that anything less than a draw would have been harsh on the visitors.
