"Don't believe anything you read - the silly season has started where every player is being linked with almost every club," said the Chairman.
Purse himself has been speaking about his Cardiff City future. He has one year left on his current contract and is hopeful he'll stay here longer. But there's an element of doubt in his words as he explains that he's not been offered a contracty extention yet.
"I do find it a little bit disappointing that they (Cardiff) haven't tried to snap me up already, especially as captain," said Purse.
"I've had two years here already and put in some good service, but that's football nowadays.
"We'll have to wait and see how it goes, but I'm hopeful that I've got a bit more time to come at Cardiff.
"If a new contract doesn't come along then I expect I'll have to move on elsewhere."
"It's been suggested I'll be surplus to requirements at Cardiff next season.
"But I've had a chat with the manager and he's said that everything's fine.
"I've got another year left on my contract at the moment and I would like to spend another few years here.
"But that's up to the manager and the board, so we'll have to see what happens.
"If I'm not wanted down here I'm sure there will be other takers, but first and foremost I'd like to stay at Cardiff."
