"The win at the weekend was our sixth in nine games and confidence is high," Purse told www.icons.com
"We played really well against Southend and there will have been a few people watching who may have thought we would slip up.
"A few clubs have gone there already and had a hard time, but we performed excellently and were very pleased with the win.
"We are the highest scoring team in the Championship, which just goes to show how confident we are at the moment.
"But it is important not to get too carried away, it's still only September."
On the matter of large home crowds Purse said
"It is a boost to see sell-out crowds at Ninian Park for home games.
"And a far cry from last season when we struggled to break even on gate receipts.
"It's sure to be another sell-out for Wolves, who have had a decent start and are also confident under their new manager Mick McCarthy.
"It's going to be a big one. They are going to be one of our main contenders for promotion this season and will probably be in the top six for most of the year.
"But we are looking forward to it, we are very strong at the moment and we want to go into the next international break on top of the table ... like we did during the last one."
