"It's great to get the monkey off our back, it's been a long time coming," he told the Echo.
"Full credit to every player. It was a tough old game.
"We've played better than that at home this season and lost, but once we were in front we didn't really look like conceding.
"It felt good to be back out there, but the result would have been the same had Glenn stayed on.
"This was a team effort and that's the only way we can succeed this season."
