Jones is currently second choice to Antti Niemi at Southampton but Monday morning brings news that Portsmouth and Wolves are interested in signing Jones and could pick him up for a reduced fee this month with talk of an 18 month contract. Any such move would scupper City's summer plans.
Jones is 36 and needs first team football to keep him as 1st choice for Wales.
