There was heartbreak for Sunderland last night as Crystal Palace scored an injury time goal to force the play off semi final into extra time. That passed and in the penalty shoot out the balance of power swung both ways before Palace triumphed.
Just before the 90 mins were up Julian Gray was sent off and it looked bleak for Palace but an injury time header kept them in the tie and then the penalty shoot out victory sees them visit Cardiff in two weeks time for the play off final.
They will face either Ipswich or West Ham who play tonight. Ipswich take a 1 - 0 lead to Upton Park.
So one thing is for sure. City get to visit the Stadium of Light again next season.
