Out of form Hornets v struggling Bluebirds. Preview

Watford came to Ninian Park in September and easily beat City 3 - 0. Then they were in the play off places with a game in hand that could have seen them go second.

Since then they have been terrible. They have only picked 16 points from the last 18 games since that win in Cardiff. City are only slightly better in the form league, we have played 17 times since then and we have earned 18 points.

In fact Watford have not won at home since August, City's last away win mind you was in September. I can't see the neutrals chosing todays game as a festival of football. Still, if City win I don't care how the match goes, we need points.

There's a return to Watford for Terry Burton, the City assistant is back at the club he left to join us. As far as team news is concerned Alan Lee has travelled just a few weeks after his hernia operation.

City will be without Joe Ledley who was injured against Wolves so either Richard Langley or Junichi Inamoto will start in Lennie's "Diamond" formation. It's most likely it will be Langley playing on the left with McAnuff at the head of the new formation just behind the front two. Boland and Vidmar complete the midfield.

That could be the only change with Rhys Weston staying in ahead of Darren Williams who has flu. Lee is not going to start but could make the bench, Jerome and Thorne should continue upfront.

Watford will have Wales keeper Paul Jones in goal, the former Wolves player is on loan at Vicarage Rd. Prior to Watford's Boxing Day 3 - 0 defeat at Reading, the last game Jones played this season was when City beat Wolves 3 - 2 at Molineux.

Kick off is at 3:00pm.

The other teams at the bottom play as follows

Gillingham v Coventry
Leeds v Plymouth
Nottm Forest v Sunderland
Rotherham v West Ham
Watford v Cardiff
Wolves v Brighton
