"I'm relieved that it got called against them but then again I didn't think, and I might by wrong on this, that it was a free-kick in the first place," he said.
"So I could turn round and say 'All's well that ends well for us'.
"It was tight, it was a close call, but I'm delighted that it went in our favour."
A relatively calm Dave Jones told Sky Sports
"It's the linesman (that gave the decision). But when you see it, it's not offside," he said.
"I haven't gone in and had a go at him, we are trying to help them, we are trying to make them better.
"He's seen something which isn't there and maybe I'm getting a little bit older and a little bit softer because I really want to go and rip his head off, but I can't."
