"I do know top clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United are taking interest and that doesn't surprise me. He has 25 goals and is the leading scorer in the country. He is going to attract the attention of big clubs - including the biggest in Spain and Italy."
Sam himself waved away suggestions that Man Utd recently offered £8m for Earnshaw by saying
"Such stupid statements don't deserve an answer. Any player with the potential to play in the Premier League is staying with Cardiff City - and there is no other consideration."
Eves himself denied that any deals were in progress said that Earnshaw was happy at Cardiff.
"I know nothing about any deal - it would certainly surprise me. Sam Hammam won't do anything-like that and hopefully Cardiff City will earn promotion to Division One this season. If they were to miss out, and I hope they don't, then the pressure on Cardiff City not to stand in the way of Robert Earnshaw's progress would be intolerable.
"The pressure would then be immense. But right now Robert is happy until Sam Hammam accepts an offer - and there is no sign of that. All he is interested in is scoring the goals to help Cardiff City go up.
"He is still young, still learning his trade. He is ambitious and always looking for ways to make himself a better player. "It's not a surprise that Manchester United and other top clubs are interested, but I have not spoken to them and I am not aware of any deal. All that is pure speculation."
I guess while the transfer window is open and while the young Welsh striker is scoring at will then this type of speculation will continue.
