Notts County 0 - 1 City. Managers comments.

"It would have been a travesty if we hadn't won. We had what looked a good goal disallowed and it seemed harsh. Overall, we can play better and our passing left a bit to be desired, but we did okay and took all three points. Notts County had corners and free-kicks, but they didn't really trouble us apart from the free-kick from Darren Caskey which hit a post. We've won away again and on it goes. We've had a good away run and now we have the chance to go top of the table with a win at Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday. My thoughts are that at some stage we may lose. I tell the players before every match, but I add on every occasion `not today, not in this match.' We'll keep working and see where that takes us. We passed the ball when we had the chance against Notts County - and defended when we had to in the second half."

"I'm not sure we have the resources to get out of this position. Too many players out there did not do their job. Maybe we were overawed by Cardiff City, but we didn't do anything during the first half. We had no confidence. Nobody would accept responsibility and it's a real problem. Cardiff were there to be taken today because I have seen them play far better than that, but we weren't up to it. The players haven't worked hard enough. For the first time I question their commitment. They have let themselves down and don't seem to grasp what they are being told. The greatest frustration is that when we had the ball we didn't pass it properly. Cardiff had twice as many efforts on goal as we did and that's sad for a home team. Maybe it's time to put the kids in. At least I will get enthusiasm and commitment from them. Financially, I don't have the resources to bring anybody in from outside the club and we have to improve with the players we have."
