Sam Hammam flew to New York for his sons wedding after receiving a call from Lord Mayor Russell Goodway confirming that the last hurdle had been crossed and Cardiff City Council had given the go ahead for contracts to be signed.

Sam is back in Wales before the home game against Crewe on September 28th and that date has been earmakred for a public signing. Once the contracts are signed then the stadium project can move into the next phase where major impact reports and planning permission will be attained.

Make no mistake, this agreement to sign contracts is a huge step forward and Sam is delighted.

The new ground will be a 30,000 all seater stadium with the ability to grow to 60,000 as the club progresses. A new athletic stadium, hotel and retail complex are all included in the project thought to be worth over £100m. The club will be covering all of the costs including the road building and site clearances.
