New head coach to have a bigger say

There was a difference to City's play this week against Blackburn and with new head coach Paul Trollope in post for a couple of days before the game it's not unreasonable to think he had an influence.

Russell Slade will make the final call on matters but his new coach will have a big impact on City's play.

“Paul is learning about the players here and what they have or don’t have to offer,” said Slade.

“I set out what we needed in terms of team shape and other factors against Blackburn, while he was involved in only a couple of training sessions before we played.

“The longer he is here the bigger say he will have because that’s what it’s all about.

“I am delighted he has joined us.”

Fans sat on the Grandstand side of the pitch above the dug outs noticed the increase in activity on the line and Slade commented on his influence.

“Yes, Trolls was vocal on the side. That’s what I asked for. We talked and he asked whether I wanted that.

“I told him yes. I do. Two sets of eyes are better than one and we also have Scott (Young) and Marge (Martyn Margetson) with us. We all work together and that’s exactly how I want it and we all want it.

“The dynamics are far better that way.”
