"I'm ready to deal with any change of perception around me and looking to improve myself every day, every time I walk onto the training ground," says Mutch. "My aim is to impress and improve every time I play. That's the challenge for me.
"As for the price tag, I'm just going out onto the pitch to do what I do and keep progressing towards where I want to be with Cardiff City.
"I didn't think about leaving Birmingham City and went away on holiday after the end of the season. The two clubs agreed a fee and that was the start.
"As soon as the fee was agreed I was happy to sign for Cardiff.
"I have come here because of the manager, the fan base, a new stadium and the way this club is preparing for the new season. The owners are looking to put money in, invest in the team and that suits me down to the ground.
"The gaffer, Malky Mackay, was the biggest selling point for me. It's essential to have a good working relationship with the manager. He has confidence in me and that was a massive factor for me.
"The size of this club was also important.
"I had been at Birmingham for five years and a change can be good for a player. I am really looking forward to the season to start."
"I enjoyed my time at Birmingham and Chris Hughton helped me immensely. Now I have a new start with Malky Mackay and Cardiff City and want to push on even more.
"There is big ambition here in Cardiff and everybody here wants to take this club to the next stage and earn promotion after going close last season."
And Joe Lewis, who signed from Peterborough, is looking forward to challenging current first choice David Marshall for the no.1 shirt.
"I'm looking forward to battling for the number one shirt with Marshy," he said. "We've worked together in the past, quite a while ago now, when we were both at Norwich and we know each other. We had our first session out on the grass today and enjoyed it - hopefully we can spur each other on to get the best out of each other.
"Both of us want to play in the team but there's only one spot - that's the nature of being a goalkeeper. But from my experience, goalkeepers tend to get along well and that's the same with Marshy and myself. I'll be fully behind Marshy if he gets picked ahead of me and I'm sure he will be behind me if I get picked.
"Cardiff City is a massive Club, potentially a huge one. I enjoyed my time at Peterborough but felt that the time was right to move on; the opportunity to come to Cardiff came up and I grabbed the chance with both hands."
