McCormack has not started a game since Blackpool away back in August. He has now made two seperate appearances for the reserves with a 45 min stint and the 75 min run out on Monday.
We was on the bench when City beat Watford 10 days ago and managed a minute or so on the pitch but it's these two reserve matches that seem to prove he's ready to come back.
"I'm feeling sharp, I'm feeling fit," said McCormack after the draw at the Memorial Ground.
"I feel ready for 90 minutes. Championship football is a different level, but I'm ready for the match against Palace.
"I've been out for a while, but I'm hungry for goals. I didn't score against Bristol Rovers, but I hit the inside of a post and on another day could have had a couple.
"Fitness is not a problem for me right now. I just need match sharpness and the two friendlies I have played in, against Hereford United and Bristol Rovers, will hold me in good stead."
