Whether or not Ross' comments will impress the manager is another matter but it's refreshing to hear that the fans who were complaining were not wrong.
Ross was left disappointed all round.
"I don't think it was too tough a game to be honest, I just think we made hard work of it, and we got a real sucker punch at the end of it with the goal," said McCormack.
"I thought the conditions were good. The pitch was good, it was a bit windy, but that can't be used as an excuse for not passing the ball. If you play the long ball to two little guys then nothing is going to happen.
"I was disappointed at the service, disappointed to be taken off, just disappointed all round really.
"We should have at least got a point, but I guess it just wasn't to be. We're conceding goals and not scoring enough and that's why we are getting beat."
Bothroyd is expected to be fit for the visit of Ipswich on Sunday.
