Maxwell it appears has attracted interest from rivals Swansea City.
Brian Flynn said on the weekend
"I spoke to Cardiff about Leyton Maxwell when our captain Roberto Martinez was injured recently. Matters didn't go any further at that point, but I've spoken to his agent again and asked to be kept informed of the situation."
