Halsey relinquished his dutes in August 2009 when he was diagnosed with lymphoma of the glands and underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumour in his throat, which is currently in remission.
He passed a referee fitness test in March 2010 and by August 2010 was back in the Premier League.
Recently he was the referee at The Liberty when Craig Bellamy's goal won the match for Cardiff City.
This season his record is: 32 games. 65 yellow and just 1 red card.
His assistants are AM Garratt and RM Pollock. The 4th official is P Walton.
Looking back through the records Halsey took charge of Cardiff's 7-1 home win over Doncaster in 1998 in front of less than 3,000 fans at Ninian Park. Andy Saville scored twice in the Division 4 (in old money) game.
