"Cardiff will pose a real threat because they'll still be buoyant after coming up.
"They'll enjoy playing clubs at a higher level and they'll want to prove themselves by rubbing the noses of the bigger clubs in it. And they don’t come any bigger in this division than us.
"You've got to remember that Cardiff see themselves as a big club as well and they'll want to prove that over the course of this season.
"With Graham Kavanagh in the centre of the park - who I know from my days as Republic of Ireland manager - and Peter Thorne and Robert Earnshaw up front, they'll be dangerous, make no mistake about that. They’re a good, experienced side and we can’t be complacent.
"I've no idea what strategy they'll come with - they might be defensive like Reading or they might go for it like Ipswich - I won't know until a couple of minutes into the game.
"But the important thing is that we don’t let them affect our strategy, the way we play, because we'll go in with a game plan designed to get us all three points."
"I'm glad it's a big stadium. People will want to do themselves proud.
"It's a big occasion and it would be more difficult if it was one of the smaller clubs in the league.
"We weren't at the races at Crystal Palace - we have spoken about that and we need to be at the races this time.
"It might give us a lift in itself. We were all sitting there before the play-off final thinking, 'Wouldn't it be great to go to West Ham and places like that?'
"No disrespect, but we could be going to Chesterfield or Colchester. This is what it's all about and we have to do ourselves justice."
"This is an important game for the club and an important game for the team.
