"The first half was the first time I've watched from the stand actually booing my players myself! I didn't call for Neil Warnock's head, though, because I realise what a good manager he is!
"We were very poor in the first half. I thought the two forwards didn't do anything right and it was a toss-up between Andy Gray and Paul Shaw over who came off.
"But we were very positive in the second half and passed the ball quicker. We should have gone to four across the back straight away.
"We were always going to play three centre-backs and we had to adapt because Cardiff used a diamond formation for the first time. But the sending off killed them."

"The sending-off was the turning point, 100 per cent. In my 25 years of management I've never been in such total control of the game as we were in the first-half. I'm thinking after 40 minutes that we'd get something out of this game even if Sheffield United improved in the second half. We tried but it was too difficult with 10 men.
"I'll be looking at the captaincy issue, I've got to look at the whole thing.
"Graham has apologised in front of his team but it's done. I wouldn't castigate him publicly but he must look at himself and his own game, we've now got to plan without.
